Every year, communities across Ontario recognize June as Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) to promote the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. This year the Town of Huntsville is launching a fun month-long celebration where adults and youth residents can bring a friend for free to a select Town of Huntsville swim or recreation program.

“The Bring a Friend program encourages residents to participate in recreation programming by increasing accessibility through social inclusion,” says Trish Conley-Knight, Manager of Recreation, Culture and Heritage. “We are excited for residents to join in and introduce a friend to a favourite program or perhaps try something new altogether.”

It’s easy to participate. Check out the Bring a Friend schedule, register for your favourite program online at Huntsville.ca or in person at the Canada Summit Centre and then invite a lucky friend to join you for free.

“Access to parks and recreation is fundamental to building strong, healthy communities, increasing the quality of life of residents, and encouraging environmental stewardship,” notes Simone Babineau, Director of Community Services.

Residents can view the June schedule at Huntsville.ca or connect with the Canada Summit Centre customer service at 705-789-6421 for more information.
