The Bracebridge Fire Department responded to a call about a shed fire on Matthiasville Road in Bracebridge on Friday, Nov. 23 just before 2 pm.
When crews arrived, neighbours were putting snow on the shed to control the flames, which had spread to a nearby house. The Bracebridge Fire Department initially requested mutual aid from the Gravenhurst Fire Department, but they stood down before arriving as the Bracebridge crews were able to handle the fire. Bracebridge OPP and Paramedic Services were also at the site of the fire to assist.
The shed was completely lost and there is minor damage to the house, but no damage estimates have been made yet. No injuries have been reported and there is no word on the cause of the fire, but officials do not believe it to be suspicious.
