The Bracebridge Sportsplex has been awarded the silver diamond award for the best recreation facility and best swimming instructors. The team at the Sportsplex are dedicated to serving the community and providing the highest levels of customer service. The annual Muskokan Readers Choice Award recognizes the businesses, people, and service providers who make communities great, and it is an honour to be recognized.
Commonwealth Honour Award
Every year the Canadian Life Saving Society recognizes members for their long-term leadership and dedicated service to the Society. Recreation Programmer, Meghan Steele, was awarded the Commonwealth Honour Award, the highest volunteer recognition award, for her volunteer service.
As a Recreation Programmer, Steele provides safe, quality program options to all ages in aquatics, regularly providing a welcoming experience for anyone interested in becoming certified in aquatics. Steele has been a Lifesaving Instructor Trainer, Bronze Examiner and Area Chair for the Muskoka Parry Sound region for five years. Most recently, Steele has also obtained her National Lifesaving instructors and Examiners certification and is a mentor in aquatics throughout Muskoka.
Recipients of the Lifesaving Society awards were honoured at an Investiture convened by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario at Queen’s Park on December 7.
“It is an honour to be recognized by members of the community for the services we provide on a daily basis. We are committed to serving the residents of Bracebridge and our team goes above and beyond to create lasting relationships and experiences with every patron.”
