BBQ On Sunday To Thank Flood Volunteers In Bracebridge

On Sunday, June 23rd, the Town of Bracebridge will host a BBQ and picnic at Annie Williams Memorial Park to thank all those who assisted with the community’s response to the flood of 2019.
Mayor Graydon Smith said it is important to recognize the hard work and support that residents of Bracebridge have exhibited during the flooding that happened in town earlier this spring. “Neighbors came out and helped neighbors; strangers came out and helped community members that they didn’t know. I have never been more proud to be the Mayor of this great community,” said Mayor Smith.
Mayor Smith noted, “You can really get a sense about what a community is made of when a disaster happens. The outpouring of volunteerism and kindness that happened during the flood this spring was overwhelming. It reaffirms for me that our community has so much to be thankful for, not the least of which are the amazing people who call Bracebridge home.”
In celebration of the community’s spirit of volunteerism and kindness, the Town of Bracebridge will be hosting an appreciation event which will feature live music and food.

The BBQ and picnic will take place as follows:
Date: Sunday, June 23, 2019
Location: Annie Williams Memorial Park (50 Santa’s Village Road)
Time: from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm.
All are welcome to this free community event.
