Armed Robbery In Penetanguishene

The Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an armed robbery which occurred at a Penetanguishene convenience store, early Thursday morning, according to a press release.

On March 21, 2024, shortly after 1:00 a.m., a lone male entered a convenience store on Main Street in Penetanguishene. He then brandished an edged weapon and demanded cash from the store employee. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported during this incident.

Patrol members of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment are being assisted in the investigation by the Major Crime Unit, as well as, the Central Region Canine Unit, Identification Unit and the Emergency Response Team.

The investigation is continuing, and the suspect is described as a 5’9″white male of medium build, wearing a blue hooded sweater, blue jeans, a medical mask and a black toque.
