Current details:
Snow squalls continue this morning.

Hazards:
Additional snowfall of 10 to 15 cm by this afternoon.
Reduced visibility due to heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
This morning into early afternoon. Snow squalls are expected to taper to flurries this afternoon.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight. For information on emergency plans and kits go to http://www.getprepared.gc.ca.
